Conspiracy Christian

By Jenniffer Mann

Not for the first time, I sat amongst a group of Christians who labelled those with opposing views to mainstream events, as ‘conspiracy theorists’.  I listened quietly allowing the irony to sink in.

By its very definition, every bible believing Christian is a conspiracy theorist.

Definition for conspiracy theorist:

  • a theory that rejects the standard explanation for an event and instead credits a covert group or organisation with carrying out a secret plot:
  • a belief that a particular unexplained event was caused by such a covert group:
  • the idea that many important political events or economic and social trends are the products of deceptive plots that are largely unknown to the general public:

With this in mind, let’s take a look at some verses from the book of Revelation.

“Then the dragon was angry with the woman and he went to wage war with the remnant of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Revelation 12:17

In essence Revelation chapter 12 in the bible depicts Satan’s onslaught against God’s faithful people, including persecution by both pagan Rome and papal Rome. Chapter 13 of the book of Revelations then goes on to describe in greater detail, Satan’s attacks throughout Christian history, with the help of two allies, both portrayed as beasts. Under Satan’s direction, the dragon and these two beasts will unite at the end of time to oppose God’s redemptive activities and seek to win the allegiance of the world.

Revelations 13:15-17 reads:

The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

To any non-Bible believer, this probably reads like the biggest conspiracy theory of all and yet, those of us who fully embrace this doctrine, pray daily for guidance to navigate end time events as faithful followers of Christ!

These events have not yet happened and we do not have details as to how events will unfold, but it makes sense that the world stage will set itself up to play out events in a way that will not be accurately reported in mainstream news.

Do we really expect BBC news, FOX, SKY, CNN or any other news channel to relay events in such a way that gives credence to biblical prophecy?! In Matthew 24:4 Jesus told His disciples, Take heed that no man deceive you.”

To put our trust in men, in corrupt governments, to sit waiting to be guided by those who rule in direct opposition to biblical principles, is that not folly?  More perceived conspiracy can be found in Revelation 18:13, which reads:

This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.

Whether or not therefore, you believe that the Coronavirus is a “plandemic” to depopulate the world, or that the world is being run by a network of evil global elites, catastrophes on a scale not yet known, are being planned to terrorise and control humanity.

Make no mistake, that every Bible believing Christian, is deemed by the world as a Bible conspiracy theorist. These very beliefs according to Matthew 24:7-9 will be the demise of many.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Matthew 24:7-9

If we are waiting for things to get better in 2022, we are not paying attention! But it is not a reason for fear but to look forward to the soon return of our Lord and Saviour.

We are told in Ecclesiastes 1:9 that:

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Take comfort in remembering that our God is all knowing, all seeing and completely in control.

Saints, we need to stop ploughing all our time, efforts and emotions into worrying about things of little consequence. If you were to consider the time you spend improving your home, focusing on your career, looking into the next car you want to buy. Idling away hours on Netflix and social media, looking for the next outfit to furnish you’re already over burdened wardrobe. If that time was spent being intimate with God, do you believe you would be the same person you are today?

Jesus will return at a time we do not expect. What if that time is upon us in the blink of an eye. Will you be ready? A failure to understand that Jesus’ soon return is imminent, means we are succumbing to Satan’s great deception.

Let’s Pray: Teach us to number our days that we might apply our hearts unto wisdom. ~ Psalm 90:12

    Amen!

Excellent article. So apt for the times we are living in. Could not agree more. By default, all bible believing Christians who are ardent seekers for the truth would be deemed as conspiracy theorists. After all, we are called to be watchmen!
